A Dream Packed Beyond Capacity

It all started with a love-hate relationship with vacation prep.

As a travel enthusiast who always wants to bring her entire wardrobe, packing a suitcase was always a stressful puzzle: wanting Roman sandals for resort dresses, comfy slides for long walks, and a pair of retro statement mules for photos… Before even stepping out the door, the suitcase was already bursting at the seams.

Then a wild idea popped up: Why not design a pair of slides with easily interchangeable uppers?

Keep one solid pair of soles, pack a few versatile uppers, and suddenly you have a whole shoe rack’s worth of styles without taking up extra space. Once that spark hit, there was no turning back.

Trial and Error in the Studio

Turning “swapping uppers in seconds” into reality proved far more challenging than expected. Soon, our studio tables were covered in fabrics, structural fasteners, and prototype soles.

 Engineering the Snap: It had to be quick to change, yet ultra-secure while walking. We pulled, tugged, and stress-tested fasteners thousands of times. If it was too tight, changing it hurt your fingers; if too loose, the upper would fly off mid-stride. After refining dozens of mechanism designs, we finally hit the sweet spot: a seamless “click” that locks tight in seconds.

 Softness Meets Durability: We sampled over a hundred eco-friendly, skin-friendly fabrics and spent months walking barefoot around the studio to test every prototype. The uppers couldn’t just be soft—they needed to be remarkably sturdy, flexible, and gentle on the skin, holding their shape without chafing, no matter how much they were stretched or worn.

 Retro Aesthetics: The soles are made from a specially formulated, lightweight, wear-resistant material for effortless support, while the uppers feature rich, vintage totems and bohemian patterns—making every design look like a wearable piece of art.

From those early, awkward prototypes to today’s effortless multi-second swap, every experiment in our studio was driven by one goal: making your travels lighter and far more fun.
